The group stages always have the first teams to get knocked out of any World Cup. No team wants to be the first team that is going home in the group stages but this is inevitable in a tournament of this kind. There are two teams who are going home first in Brazil 2014 and they are Australia and Spain. Australia’s early exit is no surprise. No one expected them to really do much in this competition anyway but they held their own against two opponents who are far higher than them in the world rankings. Either way, although they will be on a early plane flight out of the tournament they have still performed much better than anyone expected them to. Then we have Spain. This is the shock early exit of this World Cup so far. They are the reigning champions and everyone expected them to feature into the deep end of this competition again, and perhaps even go all the way again. However, this is not to be after their second loss of the tournament recently all but ensures they too will be going home early from Brazil. They lost their second game to Chile and that loss ensured they would be knocked out of the tournament. So Australia and Spain are the first two teams to exit the World Cup Brazil 2014. Australia put up a good fight whilst it lasted but Spain seemed to concede weakly during the tournament.
